c.1946 Hubley No.467 Navy Fighter Plane in Original Box

c.1946 Hubley No.467 Navy Fighter Plane in Original Box

Of the several times I've seen this die cast metal plane by Hubley, this example is by far the highest grade toy and highest grade box I've seen. Near mint+ toy in near mint box with inserts. It was never played with, or used, and from the looks of it possibly never handled!

Based on the Navy P47 Thunderbolt of WWII the toy is all solid die cast metal, painted silver, except for the cockpit canopy (transparent plastic) and wheels (rubber). The wings were painted red with silver highlighted details.

It features hinged folding wings, retractable landing gear, revolving 4-blade metal propeller, and removable plastic cockpit canopy. It weighs nearly half a pound.

The box printed in red and blue on white cardboard includes an illustration of several Navy Fighters with wings folded on the deck of an aircraft carrier. Pilots, maintenance crew, and signal men are shown along side. The opposite panels show the Fighter in the air looking at it from underneath with landing gear retracted into the fuselage. The toy name was printed on every panel. The Hubley name and address were included on the endflaps. It's also comes with its original two insert; one is die cut.

Size: Wingspan folded down 8½". Fuselage 6¼".
